Campaign Targeting Parents

The Hungarian civilian organization , Hintalovon Children’s Rights Foundation has launched its new campaign to educate parents to be more conscious and careful in social media. The initiative, which encourages conscious digital behavior, aims to raise parents’ awareness of how they can ensure their children’s safety in the online space.
The program is justified by the incredible fact that people share more than 95 million posts and videos on social media worldwide every day, including photos and videos of children posted by their proud parents not being aware of its dangers.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage adults to make sensitive and responsible decisions about who they share photos with, when, and what kind of photos they share. Parental awareness and conscious digital behavior pay double dividends in a child’s life, as not only will the child’s digital footprint be smaller, but it will also serve as guidance and support for children’s online awareness.
Within the program free online educational resources and collections of relevant articles have been published online with good practices and suggestions to follow on the Foundation’s website (https://hintalovon.hu/digitalis-szulo). These are available without registration and downloadable from there.
